Kriya Yoga is a simple yet extraordinarily powerful meditation technique that leads to higher states of consciousness. It is not tied to any religion and demands no renunciation: it can be practised both by lay people living in the realities of the modern world and by those devoted to the monastic path or meditating in quiet caves in the Himalayas.
Breath and mind are closely linked. By calming the breath we calm the mind, and in the stillness of the mind one can experience one’s own soul.
Action without attachment to its fruits.
Gaining spiritual knowledge through a disciplined intellect.
Unconditional love and gratitude.
Kriya Yoga has been practised since the time of the Upanishads. In 1861 Mahavatar Babaji restored this ancient practice for the modern world through his disciple Lahiri Mahashaya.
The techniques are passed on directly from teacher to disciple, in a lineage carried in our time by Paramahamsa Prajnanananda.
